Answer: Safari unzips it into Downloads
Download a gallery on your Mac
Click Download all photos on the shoots.page gallery: Safari saves the ZIP to your Downloads folder and decompresses it, so you get a folder of photos. If you see a ZIP instead, double-click it in Finder and the photos appear in the same folder. You need no account or extra software.

The whole job in three steps
Open your gallery link
Click the link your photographer sent you. You need no account, app or sign-up, only a password if your photographer set one.
Download the ZIP
If the gallery offers more than one format, pick one in the menu next to the button: Original files for full resolution, JPEG previews for smaller 2000 px copies, or RAW files if your photographer included them. Then click Download all photos. In Safari, click the Show Downloads button near the top-right corner of the window to follow the download.
Open the folder in Downloads
Safari decompresses .zip files after it downloads them, so Downloads may already hold a folder of photos. If you see a ZIP instead, double-click it and the unzipped folder appears in the same place.

Add the photos to Photos
Your photos are ordinary files. To add them to your Photos library, drag them into the Photos window or choose File > Import in Photos. If a ZIP is left in Downloads, you can delete it once you have the photos.
Common questions
Where did my download go?
Look in your Downloads folder. Click the Show Downloads button near the top-right corner of the Safari window, or open the Downloads stack on the right side of the Dock. The file is named after the gallery and ends in -originals.zip, -jpegs.zip or -raw.zip, unless Safari has already decompressed it into a folder.
I downloaded a ZIP but see a folder instead. What happened?
Safari decompresses files such as .zip files after it downloads them, so you get a regular folder of photos. The photos inside are the same files that were in the ZIP.
I don't see a Download all photos button. Why?
Your photographer chooses which downloads each gallery offers: original files, JPEG previews, RAW files or none. Single photos and the ZIP follow the same choice, so no Download all photos button means downloads are off for this gallery. Ask your photographer to turn them on.
My download is slow or keeps failing. What helps?
A ZIP of full-resolution photos can be large, so use a stable connection and keep Safari open while it downloads. If a download drops, go back to the gallery link and click Download all photos again. For a handful of photos, the download button on each photo is quicker.
