Download a gallery ZIP on your iPhone

Open your link, download the ZIP, unzip it in the Files app, and save the pictures to Photos. No account, no app, no sign-up — ever.

The whole job in four steps

  1. Open your gallery link

    Tap the link your photographer sent you — it opens in Safari. No account, no app, no sign-up. If the gallery is password-protected, enter the password your photographer gave you.

  2. Tap the download-all button

    Tap the download-all or ZIP button on the gallery. When your iPhone asks "Do you want to download...", tap Download. A Downloads button appears next to Safari's search field so you can track progress.

  3. Find and unzip the file

    Open the Files app and go to Browse > iCloud Drive > Downloads. Tap the ZIP file once — your iPhone creates a folder with the same name, containing all your photos.

  4. Save the photos to your camera roll

    Open the new folder, tap Select, pick the photos, tap the Share button, and tap Save [number] Images. They now live in your Photos app.

Where the download lands

When you tap the download button in Safari, your iPhone asks, "Do you want to download..." Tap Download. While the file transfers, a Downloads button appears next to the search field in Safari. Tap it anytime to track progress or open the finished file.

Downloaded files land in your Files app under Browse > iCloud Drive > Downloads. If your Safari settings store files locally, they appear under On My iPhone instead. You can view or change this location in Settings > Apps > Safari > Downloads.

Unzipping on an iPhone

Open the Files app and tap the ZIP file once. Your iPhone creates a new folder with the same name, containing all your photos. You can also touch and hold the ZIP file and tap Uncompress to do the same thing.

Getting the photos into Photos

To move the pictures into your camera roll, open the uncompressed folder in Files and tap Select. Pick the photos you want, tap the Share button, and tap Save [number] Images. This puts them in your Photos app, making them easy to browse in your camera roll, share with family, and back up.

Common questions

Where did my download go?

Open the Files app on your iPhone and go to Browse > iCloud Drive > Downloads. If your browser saves files to local storage, check Browse > On My iPhone > Downloads.

I don't see a download-all button — why?

Your photographer chooses which download options appear. Galleries can offer individual photo downloads, a download-all ZIP of originals, or a JPEG ZIP. If you do not see a download-all button, your photographer did not turn that option on.

Do I need an account or app to download?

No. You never need an account, an app, or a shoots.page profile to view or download your photos. If your photographer protected the link with a gallery password, you only need to enter that password to enter.

The download is slow or fails — what helps?

ZIP files containing hundreds of full-resolution photos are large. Connect to Wi-Fi, keep Safari open, and leave your screen on while the file downloads. If the connection interrupts, you can tap the download button on your gallery link to retry.
