Answer: one private gallery per team or class

How to share photos with parents

Parents open the link on any phone with no account or app, and it's free up to 2 GB, about 400 photos at 5 MB each. Add a password for the group and an end date, so the link closes after the season or trip.

Share a season or a trip in five steps

  1. Check your photo policy first

Review your school or club rules and select your photos. Leave out any child whose family has opted out of photo sharing, if your policy requires consent.

  2. Make one gallery per group

Create a separate gallery for each team or class. This keeps each group's pictures separate, so families only see their own group.

  3. Upload from your phone or computer

Open shoots.page in your phone or computer browser, pick the photos and sign in with Google to send them. If the connection drops, the upload resumes.

  4. Set a password and an end date

Add an optional password, pick an end date, and choose whether parents can download the originals, 2000 px JPEGs, or both.

  5. Send the link and password separately

Share the link with parents through your usual email or messaging thread, and send the password in a separate message.

Keep the photos inside the group

Gallery links are unlisted, marked noindex and left out of the sitemap, so search engines don't index them. An optional password of 8 to 256 characters adds a second lock. Once a parent enters it, the gallery stays open in that browser for up to 1 hour, then asks again, and if you change the password, everyone needs the new one.

To close the gallery, set an end date: the link stops working when it passes. Revoking switches the link off at once, and your photos stay in your account.

Access is all or nothing. Anyone with the link and password can see every photo in that gallery, and shoots.page has no per-child viewing, consent tracking or face recognition. If a child should not be seen by other families, leave those photos out before you upload.

Group chat, shared album, team app or gallery link

Shared albums work well when photo collection goes both ways. A shoots.page gallery is one-way: parents view and download the original files without an app or account.

Common questions

What's the best way to share classroom or team photos with parents?
Use one private gallery link per team or class, with a password and an end date, so parents open it on a phone with no account or app. If parents should add their own photos too, a shared album fits better.
Do parents need an account or an app?
No. Parents tap the link on their phone or computer, type the password if you set one, and view the photos in their browser.
How do I keep the photos private?
Gallery links are unlisted and marked noindex, so search engines don't list them. Add a password of 8 to 256 characters and send it separately from the link; once entered, it keeps the gallery open in that browser for up to 1 hour.
Can I stop the link working after the season or trip?
Yes. Set an end date and time and the link stops working when it passes, or revoke the link at any point. Either way, your photos stay in your account.
Can parents download just the photos of their child?
They browse the whole gallery and save the photos they want, one at a time, or all of them as a ZIP if you allow it. There is no face search or per-child filter, and everyone with the link and password sees every photo.
Does FERPA apply to photos?
It can. The US Department of Education says a photo is an education record under FERPA when it is directly related to a student and maintained by the school or someone acting for it. Schools often treat photos from public events such as games and concerts as directory information or ask for consent. Ask your school how its photo policy applies.
