Resumable uploads in 8 MiB parts
Upload recovery: nothing lost mid-flight
An interrupted upload picks up where it stopped: shoots.page sends each file in 8 MiB parts and skips the parts it already has. After a reload, press Resume upload; if the browser lost your files, reselect them and the app checks they are unchanged before it continues.

Before you sign in
When you start a gallery on the homepage, your draft (the selected files, gallery title, and password or expiry settings) is saved in your browser (IndexedDB) and survives a reload. Nothing uploads to the server before you sign in. If the browser cannot store every file, it tells you to keep the tab open through sign-in and upload, because after a reload you may need to reselect the same originals.
To throw the draft away, press Clear selection. The confirmation, Clear this selection?, warns: This removes the local draft and its recovery copy from this browser. Nothing has been uploaded.
Reloading or leaving mid-upload
Each photo goes up in 8 MiB parts. A part that fails on a network error or a busy server is retried automatically, and while you are offline the app waits for the connection instead of using up retries.
If you reload, close the tab or lose the connection, the upload shows as paused. Come back and press Resume upload: the app asks the server which parts it already holds and sends only the rest. Photos that already finished uploading are not uploaded again. An unfinished upload stays resumable for 1 day after its last activity; after that, select the original file again.
If the browser lost your files
Picked files wait in this browser's storage until they upload. If they are gone, for example after clearing site data, the app asks you to Reselect originals: Choose the unchanged originals. We verify the file contents before resuming. Pick the same files again. A file that differs from the one you started uploading is refused.
When a photo shows failed
A photo whose preview fails after upload shows Preview unavailable, and until it is fixed the publish button reports how many photos failed to process. Click Retry preview on that photo, or remove it. The other photos are not affected.
A file over 1 GiB or 100 megapixels will not get a preview however often you retry, so remove it and upload a smaller export. See files and limits.
Common questions
I closed my laptop mid-upload. Did I lose everything?
No. The parts that reached the server stay there. Open the gallery again within 1 day and press Resume upload; only the missing parts are sent.
Do I have to re-pick my files after signing in?
No. Signing in with Google keeps your selected files, gallery title, and settings intact. You only reselect files if this browser lost them.
One photo keeps failing. What now?
Read the message on that photo, then retry it or remove it from the gallery. If the file is over 1 GiB or 100 megapixels, remove it and upload a smaller export.
Does retrying re-upload the whole gallery?
No. Retry preview reprocesses the file already on the server, for that one photo. Nothing uploads again.
