Upload recovery: nothing lost mid-flight
Uploads on shoots.page are built to survive interruptions: your draft persists in the browser and uploads resume where they stopped. Here is exactly what happens in each case.

Before you sign in
When you start a gallery, your draft — selected files, gallery title, and password or expiry settings — persists in your browser (IndexedDB) across reloads. Nothing uploads to the server before you sign in.
If you choose to discard the draft, the confirmation says: “This removes the local draft and its recovery copy from this browser. Nothing has been uploaded.” Confirming removes the local draft and its recovery copy from that browser.
Reloading or leaving mid-upload
Uploads run as resumable multipart uploads in 8 MiB parts. If you close the window or leave mid-upload, your progress is kept.
When you come back, the app re-syncs and continues the remaining parts from where it stopped. Photos that already finished uploading are not uploaded again.
When a photo shows failed
A photo that fails shows a failed status with a message on it. Upload errors can come from an interrupted connection; the app checks before retrying.
Click Retry on just that photo, or Remove to take it out of the draft. Ready photos won't upload again. If a file fails during post-upload processing, the gallery warns you: “…photos need attention. Retry the preview or remove the photo before publishing.”
Common questions
I closed my laptop mid-upload — did I lose everything?
No. Uploads are split into 8 MiB parts. When you come back, the app re-syncs and continues the remaining parts, skipping photos that already finished.
Do I have to re-pick my files after signing in?
No. Signing in with Google keeps your selected files, gallery title, and settings intact — no re-picking.
One photo keeps failing — what now?
Read the message on that photo, then use Retry to try it again on its own, or Remove to take it out of the draft.
Does retrying re-upload the whole gallery?
No. Retrying targets only the photo you choose; photos that are already ready won't upload again.
