Retouched 1 to 8, edited 10 to 75+
How many photos for a 1-hour shoot?
Published 1-hour packages include 1 to 8 retouched images or 10 to 75+ edited photos, and shoots.page delivers either set as one link. Headshots sit at 1 to 5 retouched frames, family and engagement sessions at 20 to 75+; at about 8 MB per JPEG, even 75 photos take about 0.6 GB of the free 2 GB.

What published packages say
Retouched headshot packages are the smallest. Adi Ringer Headshot Photography includes 1 retouched image in a session of under an hour, Headshots NYC includes 2 in its 60-minute session, PhotosbyMichel 4 and Studio Popcorn 5.
Portrait and lifestyle packages land between 4 and 15. Bradley Banner includes 4 professionally retouched images in a 1-hour portrait session, Studio Popcorn 8 retouched photos, micahecru.com 10 edited images, Tiffany Michelle 10 to 15 and Stacie Stine 15.
Family and documentary sessions deliver more. Janessa-Nicole includes 20+ edited images in a 1-hour family session, GKPhoto 30+, Fabrophoto.com a minimum of 40 and Liam + Bee 50+. Photoshoot Rome includes 50 edited photos in a 1-hour shoot, Lelania Little up to 75, and Catherine Huliganga 75+ for a 1-hour engagement session. William Petruzzo of Petruzzo Photography puts his studio at between 20 and 60 finished images per hour, per photographer.
Published counts for a 1-hour session
The following table outlines published photo counts across common 1-hour session types, their estimated gallery storage at about 8 MB per exported JPEG, and how each set fits within the free 2 GB account limit.
| Session | 1-hour count | Gallery size at 8 MB per JPEG | shoots.page plan |
|---|---|---|---|

What drives the number
- Editing depth. Headshot studios price retouching per frame: Adi Ringer Headshot Photography charges $40 for each additional image, PhotosbyMichel and Studio Popcorn $50. Sessions that deliver a full edited set instead of individually retouched frames come back with dozens.
- Session type. A family with children or a couple walking outdoors gives more distinct moments than one person on a studio backdrop, which is why the family and engagement packages above start at 20 and reach 75+.
- Package model. Some photographers include a fixed set and sell extras: Stacie Stine offers extra edited images at $15 a photo and Studio Popcorn charges $35 for each extra portrait. Bradley Banner shows watermarked proof images so the client can choose.
- Client expectations. Put the count in the booking details and in the what-to-expect note you send before the session, so 10 retouched photos never reads as a short delivery.
How to deliver it
Put the count in the package
State the number of edited or retouched photos in the package details, so the client knows what arrives before the session.
Upload your exported JPEGs
Export your finished photos, upload them to a new gallery draft, and review the files before making the gallery live.
Enable proofing for selections
If your package allows clients to select their retouched images, turn on photo proofing to set a maximum pick count and an optional per-photo price for extras.
Publish and send one link
Publish your gallery to generate a single unlisted link where your client can review 2000 px previews and download the original files one at a time or as one ZIP.
Common questions
Is 20 photos enough for a 1-hour session?
It sits inside the published range. Petruzzo Photography produces between 20 and 60 finished images per hour, per photographer, Stacie Stine's 1-hour session includes 15 edited images and Janessa-Nicole's 1-hour family session 20+. At about 8 MB per JPEG, 20 photos take 0.16 GB. For longer bookings, see how many photos for a 2-hour shoot.
How many photos come from a 1-hour headshot session?
Published headshot packages include 1 to 5 retouched images. Headshots NYC includes 2 in its 60-minute session, PhotosbyMichel 4 and Studio Popcorn 5, and Adi Ringer Headshot Photography includes 1 in a session of under an hour. Each retouched frame takes editing time, so extra frames are sold one by one.
Should I charge for extra photos?
Many published packages do. PhotosbyMichel and Studio Popcorn charge $50 for each extra retouched headshot, and Stacie Stine offers extra edited images at $15 a photo. With photo proofing on shoots.page you set a per-photo price for picks above the maximum and the client sees the running total; the payment is settled between you and the client, because shoots.page never collects it.
How many 1-hour sessions fit on the free plan?
At about 8 MB per JPEG, the free 2 GB holds about 250 photos across your live galleries. That is five family sessions of 50 photos (2.0 GB), sixteen portrait sessions of 15 photos (1.92 GB) or fifty 5-photo headshot sets (2.0 GB). Deleting an old gallery frees its storage after cleanup, and Pro raises the limit to 100 GB.
Can the client choose which photos get retouched?
Yes. Upload the proofs, turn on proofing and set the maximum picks to the number of retouched photos in the package; the default is 25 and it goes up to 1,000. The client stars favorites with a live count against the maximum, submits with a name and email, and the selection locks until you reopen it. Then retouch the picks and deliver them as the final gallery.
Deliver your next 1-hour shoot
Upload the finished photos to shoots.page and send the client one unlisted link they open without an account. A 1-hour set of up to 75 photos takes about 0.6 GB of the free 2 GB.
