Pass+ to Pic-Time migration is free

Pass Gallery alternatives after the shutdown

shoots.page is the Pass+ alternative for delivery and proofing without a store: free up to 2 GB, or 100 GB for USD 9 a month, and clients never need an account. If you sell prints, Pass's free migration to Pic-Time keeps your gallery links and client data and gives you a store with over 30 labs, so it is the obvious pick.

Why Pic-Time is the default

Pass has been powered by Pic-Time's technology for nearly a decade, though the two remain separate companies, so Pic-Time is the only migration Pass offers. It is free for every Pass photographer, it runs automatically once you start it from your Pass account, and your Pass pricing is honored through your renewal period.

Old Pass gallery links redirect to the migrated galleries for as long as they stay live on Pic-Time. Client data and contacts, videos, slideshows, scene names and order come with you, and Pic-Time works with over 30 print labs. If print sales are part of your business, migrating is the practical choice. The Pass Gallery shutdown guide has every date and the billing details.

What the migration leaves behind

Order history, price lists, coupon codes, marketing automations, gallery templates, integrations and album proofing do not transfer. Covers switch to Pic-Time's Classic theme. Custom products come across but need a new price list before they sell again, and the store itself is rebuilt with Pic-Time's setup wizard. Export your order history and anything else on that list before you move on.

When shoots.page is the better fit

If your wedding, portrait or event clients have already paid in full, a print store and marketing automations are more than the job needs. shoots.page is built for handing over finished files: clients open one link, browse, pick favorites and download, with no account and no log-in.

Pass galleries only took JPEG and GIF files. On shoots.page you can deliver PNG, TIFF, HEIC and WebP originals byte for byte, and camera RAW files as full-size JPEGs or, once you switch RAW downloads on, untouched. Photo proofing lets clients pick favorites up to your limit and buy extras at a per-photo price you set; shoots.page never handles that money and takes no commission. It is free up to 2 GB, about 250 exported JPEGs at 8 MB each, or 100 GB for USD 9 a month.

Where Pic-Time clearly wins

Where shoots.page fits

Moving a Pass gallery to shoots.page

  1. Find your finished exports

Use the exported files from Lightroom, Capture One or your backup drive. Download from Pass only the galleries you no longer have yourself.

  2. Create a gallery and upload

Start a gallery on shoots.page and add the files. You can review the whole set as a draft before you publish.

  3. Set access and proofing

Add an optional password and expiry date, and switch on proofing if the client still needs to choose favorites.

  4. Send the new link

Email the gallery link with a short note that the old Pass link no longer works and this one replaces it.

Common questions

Is the Pic-Time migration really free?
Yes. Pass says migration is free for every Pass photographer, though a small number of accounts may be asked to make an annual commitment to Pic-Time. Your Pass pricing is honored through your renewal period.
Do my old Pass links keep working?
Only if you migrate to Pic-Time: old links then redirect to the migrated galleries while they stay live there. If you move to shoots.page, you send clients the new shoots.page links, because old Pass links cannot point to it.
Can I use both?
Yes. You can migrate to Pic-Time to keep existing links and your store, and use shoots.page for clients who only need their files. They are separate accounts with separate plans.
Does shoots.page sell prints?
No. There is no print store, product sales or lab fulfillment. shoots.page delivers finished files and collects client picks.
What about RAW files?
shoots.page accepts camera RAW files such as CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, RAF and DNG. Clients download them as full-size JPEGs by default, or as untouched RAW files when you switch RAW downloads on.
